Nash Square Park

Located in downtown Raleigh, Nash Square is a small park, not far from the main sightseeing spots. The park is a common feature of older American cities. The landscaped park is covered in trees, providing good shade from the heat as well as paved walkways & seating.

There is a monument dedicated to the firefighters that paid the ultimate price in service to the citizens of North Carolina. Dedicated in 2006, it features a bronze sculpture depicting four firefighters atop a hexagonal cement slab. The sculpture is surrounded by a low, segmented brick wall inscribed with the names of firefighters lost in the line of duty.
